Skagit Adult Day Program

For Caregivers

Our caregivers support programs have been a gift to so many who have found themselves in the very difficult position of caring for a loved one with dementia. Dates for all caregiver meetings can be found on our Event Calendar. For inquiries regarding any of our programs, please call 360-755-1235.

Caregiver Support Group: Our support groups offer a safe and supportive environment to share and learn from other caregivers. We meet in Burlington at Calvary Baptist Church (325 Avon Avenue, Burlington) in Burlington on the second and fourth Wednesday from 3:00 – 5:00pm. We also meet in Anacortes at Christ Episcopal Church (1216 7th St, Anacortes) on the fourth Tuesday from 1:00 – 2:30pm. We have added a separate support group specifically designed for adult children caring for their parents with dementia on the fourth Thursday of the month from 4:00 – 5:30pm at the Bradford House (116 N Skagit St, Burlington). There is no charge to attend our Support Groups.

Lunch and Chit Chat: A new support group that is designed for those experiencing memory changes in their own lives. The purpose of this group is to create a supportive atmosphere where older adults may share their stories, experiences and changes. Dignity, empathy and confidentiality comprise a few of the group’s values. Friendships are nurtured and encouraged. We meet at the Burlington Chamber Community Meeting Room (520 E Fairhaven Ave, Burlington) the first Wednesday of each month from 12:00 – 2:00 PM.

Lunch and Learn: Our monthly Lunch and Learn meetings are very popular amongst our caregivers. We invite local experts to share knowledge and insights over a light home-made lunch at the Burlington Senior Center (1011 Greenleaf Ave, Burlington) on the 4th Monday of the month from 12:00 to 2:00pm and at Christ Episcopal Church (1216 7th St, Anacortes) from 12:30 to 2:30pm.

Guest speakers cover a broad range of caregiver-related topics spanning medical, legal and social issues.

Dining with Friends: A special monthly dinner for friends who have graduated from our Caregiver Support Groups. We meet the 2nd Thursday of the month from 5-7pm at the Bradford House (116 N Skagit St, Burlington). RSVP required to Deanna McDougle @ 360.707.8403.
